Breaking new ground in
ABS & Compounds

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) is an engineering thermoplastic. It is a terpolymer made by polymerising styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of polybutadiene. It is a preferred choice for structural applications, thanks to its physical properties such as high rigidity, resistance to impact, abrasion, strain. ABS offers excellent gloss combined with high strength and chemical resistance.

Supreme Petrochem Ltd has commenced production of ABS with an installed capacity of 70,000 tonnes in Phase One at our existing manufacturing facility in Nagothane. This marks a significant step in strengthening our position in the engineering plastics segment. A second phase with similar capacity is planned in the near future, which will further enhance our ability to meet growing market demand and serve our customers with world-class products.

The technology adopted is continuous mass polymerisation process licenced by Versalis, an ENI Group company, Italy. This process is highly energy efficient, with a low environmental footprint due to low emissions and very low effluent. The product has very low volatiles (odour free), high whiteness index and low gel count, all of this making it suitable for technical applications in automobile interiors. mABS is eminently suitable due to its low volatiles for health and safety of employees in moulding shops.

SPL has already commissioned a 10,000 TPA ABS compounds line as part of its SPC business at Nagothane, Maharashtra. Our ABS Compounds, Pre-colours and Specialities have been widely accepted for its consistent quality and deliveries in industries like:

SPL has an arrangement with Formosa Chemicals and Fibers Corporation of Taiwan for supply of their range of ABS grades in India.
